5 tips to finding the best hotel rate in Las Vegas
Have you ever wondered how your buddies always seem to get the exact same hotel room as you, but at a serious discount?
I have come up with a few tricks that usually get me better rates than the average person.
- Search the web. I usually start with the hotels that I am targeting to stay in. There are usually about a half a dozen that within any given block. Then I just let my keyboard and mouse look for deals.
- Big travel site like Travelocity or Expedia can sometimes be your best bet. This probably only works about 1 in 6 where they actually list lower rates than the casinos themselves. Still worth the few minutes it takes.
- Hotels.com I actually really like this service. Basically they search an entire city or country whatever you choose, in a matter of minutes. Checkout the script below for Las Vegas you can pick dates and hotel ratings. Good service.
- Travel packages, a few years back this used to be the only way to travel to Vegas. They would book air and hotel for a group and then provide individuals with a lower rate than you could get by yourself. Nowadays I say it’s about 50/50 whether you are going to get a lower rate. My advices either do your homework or pay for the convenience.
- “Casino rates” if you are a player that has traveled to Vegas before this is the only way to go. The only stipulation is that you have to have the Casino’s player’s card and have played a moderate amount on it. If you have, then what you do is phone the Casino and tell them you are a player and ask what “Casino rate’ you qualify for. Trust me this one ALWAYS gets me the best rates.
