Rising fuel costs hurting Las Vegas

With oil reaching the outrageous cost of $100 a barrel, some airlines have decided to cut back on some flights.

Allegiant Air, a low-cost airline based in Las Vegas, specializes in discount leisure travel from small and midsized markets to Las Vegas, Arizona and Florida. They have just announced that they are dropping flights from Springfield to Las Vegas on December 18th, despite the fact that the flights averaged 80 percent occupancy.

If fuel costs keep rising they won’t be the only Airline cutting back on flights. As with all things, we can expect to see a big increase in airfare costs to Las Vegas in the New Year.

If you have the time, inclination and funds to travel to Las Vegas in the near future, you should act. Any money that you can save on flights can be well spent once you arrive at your destination. In a world of rising costs, potential savings that can be applied solely towards pleasure is definitely a luxury that should be addressed.
