Las Vegas no longer a cash town.
There was a time when I used to visit Las Vegas and the only sound louder than the ringing of the slot machines was the sound of coins hitting the cash tray.
Nowadays, sadly that time is behind us. Besides a few more traditional casinos on Fremont Street, the coin operated slot machines have been replaced by electronic noises and paper slips. To be honest, I am not a fan. I often wonder how many thousands of dollars go home every week from Las Vegas never to be cashed in. It is surprisingly easy to stow a paper money slip in your pocket with the intention of cashing it in, only to find out that it has to be cashed in at that casino across town or that you forgot about it completely.
I would much prefer it if Las Vegas brings back the big, ugly and loud coins. How do you feel?
