The many faces of Cirque Du Soleil

In the past 15 years Cirque Du Soleil has become synonymous with Las Vegas. It is hard to book a trip to Las Vegas without including a night at a Cirque show. There are currently 5 Cirque Du Soleil shows in Las Vegas. Here is a brief overview of them.
"Mystere" at Treasure Island premiered December 1993
The first Cirque in Sin City still holds a place on the Me On Neon top 5. It is perhaps the most “circus like” of all the Cirque shows, but that is a completely relative judgement. In other words, expect to be amazed by aerial, floor and apparatus acrobatics, as well as some of the most unique and mind-boggling performances you will ever see. This includes some truly eye popping wall climbing, and height induced stunts that literally make the jaw drop. Well worth the price of admission.
"O" at the Bellagio premiered October 1998
More commonly known as the “water show”, this Cirque has perhaps the greatest stage ever produced. It includes a 1.5 million gallon pool that can be converted to a solid stage in the blink of an eye (and is, several times). Like Mystere, expect to be amazed by acrobatics with the added element of water and the truly one of a kind show it provides. Combine beautiful operatic music and the night is complete. This show has been playing continuously for nearly a decade and still sells out almost every night.
"Zumanity"at New York-NewYork premiered September 2003
Zumanity brings an element that had not been present in the previous 2 Cirques, sexuality. Perhaps, not for everyone, this show is much more risqué than its cousins. It is however, excellent entertainment. While showcasing fewer acrobats, the audience is instead treated to a more “theatre style” show for the 3rd Cirque.
"Ka" at the MGM Grand premiered February 2005
Ka is the most technically advanced show in the Cirque arsenal. It is also the only one that tells a linear story. The story line is of Imperial Twins who are separated during a war and must travel separate, but connected paths. Again, the costumes, stunts and choreography are absolutely amazing, but this time there is the added element of pyrotechniques. This cirque will literally blow you away. It is outstanding entertainment.
"The Beatles, Love" at The Mirage premiered June 2006
At first the Beatles and Cirque do not seem like a match made in heaven, but it is. If you are even remotely a Beatles fan, consider this a must see. The theatre that houses “Love” has the most advanced sound design stage in the world. Every seat contains 3 speakers in each headrest, which makes the music practically come alive. Again, words cannot describe how immensely talented the acrobatic performers are in this fabulous show.
“Untitled” Criss Angel Show at the Luxor to premier 2008
Just when you thought they were done, Cirque Du Soleil has now announced that they are teaming up with the mind freak himself, Criss Angel. This show is set to open later this year and is sure to be another instant classic.
