If you are traveling to Las Vegas for the Christmas Holidays you may want to catch a little holiday spirit at the Gift of Lights.
Like most every other city during the holiday season, Las Vegas citizens and businesses like to decorate for Christmas. Sunset Park in Las Vegas has eliminated the search for the best arrays by transforming its 150 acres into a holiday wonderland. The fifth annual Gift of Lights features an expanded drive-through route, with more than six million lights arranged in festive arches, tunnels and more than 200 individual displays.
There is a nominal fee to enjoy the display but all proceeds go to Goodwill of Southern Nevada and the Clark County Scholarship Fund.
Sunday – Thursday • 5 – 9 p.m. and Friday – Saturday • 5 – 10 p.m.
Admission $13 per car • $2 off with bag of items for Goodwill

The Da Vinci Experience is a collection of replicas of the artist’s inventions and paintings. It is located in Henderson at 200 S Water St, about a 15 minute drive from the strip.
Some of the items that are on display include prototypes for a bicycle, car and even a helicopter. All the replicas were made from Da Vinci’s notes and were re-created using techniques and materials that were available in Da Vinci’s era. They are on loan from the Museum of the a History of Science of Florence, Italy.
The Da Vinci Experience is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays through March 2.
Tickets are $17 for adults and $12 for seniors 65 and older and students 17 and younger. Children age 6 and younger are admitted free.

Celine Dion is closing out her five year run in Las Vegas on December 15th 2007.
Actually, it was not quite five years as her showed opened in March of 2003. The show “A New Day” was situated in a grandiose theatre built specifically for the grammy-award winning star by Caesar’s Palace.
The singer said performing in the same venue provided her with “stability and a comfort zone”. But, being away from her six-year old son has proved to be challenging.
If you have never been to Celine’s Las Vegas show I would definitely recommend seeing it before it closes. The Caesar’s Palace Colosseum was made for this act (literally). Tickets are definitely a must buy before you go.
As it turns out right now is a good time to go to Las Vegas. It is the last few weeks of low-season and there are still some good buys to be had. Travelocity in particular has some excellent prices right now:

Although it is not something I would generally do, there are more and more people heading to Las Vegas these days and enjoying a healthy holiday. Where I normally crawl out of bed at the crack of noon and start my day with a nice baileys and coffee. There are those that go to Las Vegas, rise at the crack of dawn and enjoy a nice morning jog.
