At 1149 feet, the Stratosphere Tower is the tallest freestanding observation tower in the United States and the tallest building west of the Mississippi.

 

On the roof of the enormous building you will find the exhilarating Big Shot.  From a platform that is already 921 feet in the air 16 people are strapped in to the ride and shot skyward 160 feet. At speed of 45 miles an hour straight up, the thrill seekers will experience a gut-wrenching four ‘G’s of force on the way up, and feel negative ‘G’s on the way down as your legs dangle in the Las Vegas skyline.
