Thanksgiving in Las Vegas
As surprising as it may seem Las Vegas has become a hot spot for thanksgiving travelers. Las Vegas is the second-most-popular Thanksgiving travel destination on Travelocity.com this year, rising from its sixth-place spot two years ago. Trailing Hawaii and New York, Las Vegas ranked third among U.S. destinations in American Express’ recent holiday travel poll.
Now granted Travelocity.com has had some very hot Las Vegas Vacation Packages and Deals for the last month, but it seem that Sin City has become a hot getaway for this family-centered, wholesome holiday.
I suppose there is a certain appeal to eating gourmet turkey dinner and drinking expensive bottles of wine, but, it somehow doesn’t stack up to Grandma’s house. Or does it?
I am the first one to slink away from the table and run off to do something else. I guess why not make it Jubilee or Monty Python’s SPAMALOT.
"Families are saying: Let’s not spend Thanksgiving at home this year," said Amy Ziff, a Travelocity.com editor-at-large. "Las Vegas has an increasing appeal, with its restaurants, diversity of hotel offerings and all the shows and adrenaline thrills."
I guess if you think about it, anytime is a good time for Las Vegas.
