		<description>This is a great post, but I believe you have left out one of the biggest reason for the busy carpet.  I am a frequent traveler to vegas and have a few friends who work in the Casions.  

The biggest reason the carpet is busy (even in elevators and hallways) is because it is virtually impossible to find a chip if you drop one.  Most casino carpet has a good bit of black and green ($100 chips and $25 chips.)  Apparently the casinos pick up $1000&#039;s a day from the floors.  My friends wouldn&#039;t get into the details but I am assuming it has to do with cameras, or some other technology.

Think about it - a few drinks, busy carpet - you drop a chip and it&#039;s gone!
